What a special year to be back at Riviera. I remember when I was a young boy and use to attend the tournament with my dad. It’s so exciting to now play in and host The Genesis Invitational. This is the first year the tournament has had elevated status as an invitational, joining the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer’s events.

The 2020 Genesis Invitational kicked off its tournament week at The Riviera Country Club on Monday, February 10 with the sixth annual Collegiate Showcase, in which San Jose State University’s Sean Yu carded the low score, a 1-under-par 70. By virtue of being the low collegiate amateur, Yu received an exemption into the 2020 Genesis Invitational, the 72-hole PGA TOUR event beginning Thursday at The Riviera Country Club.

The majority of the 120-player field for The Genesis Invitational was confirmed today. The 94th edition of the tournament and its first year with invitational status, will be held Feb. 10-16 at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

With proceeds from The Genesis Invitational benefitting TGR Foundation, the flagship TGR Learning Lab will bring the award-winning curricula and hands-on activities to Family Village throughout the tournament. Located near three green and 15 tee, the TGR Learning Lab powered by CDW, Microsoft Surface and Tech Fore! Kids has activities planned for youth of all ages.

The Riviera Country Club is located right on the coastline of the entertainment capital of the world, just miles Los Angeles. Riviera has been the host of major golf tournaments since as early as 1948, which include the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, and now The Genesis Invitational. Originally established in 1926, Riviera is known for its older course that many of the players enjoy.

The Genesis Invitational is elevating the game inside and outside the ropes at The Riviera Country Club. The tournament will once again offer a number of unique experiences for all guests attending the event at Riviera.
