The Genesis Invitational annually tests the world’s best players on championship courses and the 99th edition of the PGA TOUR Signature Event was no different. Torrey Pines South Course showed its teeth and Ludvig Åberg emerged victorious.

The sun was shining and the stars were out at Torrey Pines Golf Course during Friday’s second round of The Genesis Invitational. Four of the top seven players in the world are atop the leaderboard as sunny conditions and soft greens lead to scoring opportunities.

In response to the recent wildfire devastation in the Los Angeles area and across California, Genesis, TGR Live and the PGA TOUR are launching the California Rises initiative at the 2025 Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course to drive relief and recovery efforts for affected communities. As part of the California Rises initiative, Genesis is donating $8 million in 100 tournament vehicles and cash contributions and the Tiger Woods-hosted PGA TOUR event will serve as a platform to highlight the remarkable stories of resilience and response from the community, first responders and charitable organizations.

The Genesis Invitational announced today that Xavier Bighaus of Colorado Christian University has been named the 2025 Pathway Player into the tournament’s Collegiate Showcase. Bighaus will compete alongside a field of top collegiate golfers during the 11th-annual Collegiate Showcase on Monday, February 10 at Torrey Pines GC (South Course). The winner of the 2025 Collegiate Showcase will earn an exemption into the PGA TOUR’s Barracuda Championship, held July 17-20 at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, California.

The 2025 Genesis Invitational will be held at Torrey Pines South Course, continuing the tradition of showcasing golf’s greatest players at world-renowned courses. In collaboration with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, and out of respect for the unfolding situation, we have determined that the 2025 Genesis Invitational will be played at an alternate location the week of February 10-16.
