Game Changing Moment: the inaugural Pathway Player
Building upon the tournament’s history of inclusion, The Genesis Invitational introduced the Pathway Player to the Collegiate Showcase in 2022. In collaboration with Ethan Mangum, the inaugural Pathway Player, The Genesis Invitational is supporting a series of free junior golf clinics this summer through At Par Golf at Chastain Park in Atlanta. Ethan was able to further enhance his golf game with At Par Golf as a junior golfer and he is honored to help provide kids the necessary equipment and opportunity to learn the game of golf as a result of his experience at The Genesis Invitational.
Ethan recently served as a Lee Elder intern at the U.S. Open and will return to the College of William & Mary this fall as a graduate student before turning professional in golf.
Selected annually, the Pathway Player is a special invitation into the Collegiate Showcase awarded to a golfer representing a minority background who is excelling on the golf course and academically. With the goal of providing exposure and opportunity to high-level competition in support of the recipient’s professional golf aspirations, the Collegiate Showcase Pathway Player carries a legacy at Riviera and beyond.
